24/10/2022

We invite you to join to participate in a Dowerin FREE two-day Youth Mental Health First Aid training in Dowerin on 8 and 9 December 2022.

Learn about the signs and symptoms of the common mental health problems experienced by young people, what sort of help has been shown by evidence-based research to be effective, and how to provide mental health first aid in a crisis situation.

Topics will include depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance use problems, suicidal thoughts and behaviours and psychosis.

Upon completing the post-course assessment, you’ll be accredited as a Youth Mental Health First Aider for three years.

The Youth Mental Health First Aid Course is for:

  • adults working or living with adolescents (those aged between 12 and 18 years)
  • anyone helping people who are a little younger or older
  • parents, teachers, sports coaches, and youth workers
