The 22nd CBH Photo comp is NOW OPEN!
This year’s theme; ‘Milestones’ is an opportunity to capture and share the milestones that West Aussies experience living and working in our regional communities.
Following a successful comp in 2021 where we had 236 entries with the theme of "Working Together", we will once again open entries from 1 August to 31 August with voting for Peoples Choice remaining open until 8 September.
We will once again host an exhibition which will showcase a small selection of images in the Dexus Place foyer from Monday 3 October to Friday 21 October.
Photographers can enter up to 6 images and will be judged by a panel made up of representatives from the ABC, CBH, Countryman, Farm Weekly and the 2021 Winner Amanda Stewart.
Amanda said, "Winning was a nice surprise last year, having had my photos displayed in the foyer over a number of years, it was wonderful to be chosen. I love being able to showcase our unique environment and lifestyle to people who may be unfamiliar with what our regions can offer.
"I love this year’s theme, I think it’s a fantastic opportunity for people to think about where they have come from, and where they are going. There are many wheatbelt farms, businesses and communities that have come from humble origins and through hard work, grit and determination, have built something to be immensely proud of.
What better way to honour a milestone than encapsulating that in a photograph? Show us the big things, the little things, the things that are unique or funny, that show us you’re proud of what you’ve achieved.
"At the very least you’ll have something visual to remember the moment - and you might just win a competition too!
"So think carefully about this theme, and try to capture some moments on your camera or your phone. Take a few images, play around with a few different ideas - and send your best in. Show us exactly what a milestone for your farm or business means to you.
"I really appreciate the effort that goes in to creating the images for this competition - and remember you don’t have to be a professional photographer with the latest gear - just someone with a passion for what you do, and a willingness to share. You’re in such a unique position - in one of the most unique environments in the world - so let’s see what you’ve got!"
