CBH expands support for country sport across regional WA
CBH has expanded its partnerships with Country Football WA and Netball WA, providing direct support to local clubs and associations across Western Australia's grain-growing regions.
As part of the expanded partnerships, CBH will fund the full cost of public liability insurance for 71 country football clubs and contents insurance for 24 Netball WA-affiliated associations. This direct support reduces operating costs for volunteer-run organisations, helping them manage rising costs and strengthening their ability to operate sustainably.
The initiative builds on CBH's long-standing support of regional sport. CBH has partnered with Country Football WA since 2002 and has supported Netball WA since 2023, including backing major regional championships that create development opportunities for athletes across regional WA.
As a grower-owned co-operative, CBH recognises the important role local sporting organisations play in bringing communities together and supporting health, wellbeing and connection.
CBH Chief Executive Officer Ben Macnamara said the expanded partnerships reflect CBH's ongoing commitment to strengthening regional communities and supporting the long-term sustainability of country sport.
“Country sport is at the heart of many regional communities, bringing people together and creating a strong sense of belonging,” Mr Macnamara said.
“By covering essential insurance costs, CBH is helping clubs and associations keep more money where it matters most, on the people, programs and opportunities that strengthen country sport.”
Country Football WA Executive Manager, Facilities and Affiliates Brent Hedley said CBH’s ongoing support helps to keep football advancing in the regions for years to come.
“Country Football WA is thrilled to have CBH’s long-term support and commitment to the sustainability of football clubs across grain-growing regions,” Mr Hedley said.
“This expanded partnership will ease financial pressures on 71 clubs, freeing up funds to invest in things like participation, equipment, facilities and player development.”
Netball WA General Manager Communities, Beth Harvey said the investment would deliver valuable support to regional associations.
“Support like this from CBH allows our affiliated associations in grain-growing regions to focus on their core business of delivering netball programs and competitions,” Ms Harvey said.
The expanded partnerships form part of CBH's broader community investment approach, supporting initiatives that help regional communities thrive.
