Supporting country sport

The CBH Group is a long-term partner of the Western Australian Country Football League (WACFL). Since 2002, the co-operative has supported 12 leagues across the WA grain growing region with more than $900,000.

Through this sponsorship we can support country footy every week of every season by supporting 85 clubs, 239 teams, 5,975 players and 2,400 volunteers under the 12 leagues.

More than 50 AFL players have come from the grass roots level of country football in regional WA and developed their skills through the WACFL. Some of those players include former West Coast Eagles’ Dean Cox, Darren Glass, Mark LeCras and current players Josh Kennedy and Jamie Cripps. The Fremantle Dockers also have the WACFL to thank for stars Aaron Sandilands and Nathan Fyfe.

CBH’s partnership with WACFL assists the country leagues as they continue to keep sport strong in WA’s regional areas, while allowing the WACFL to fund a development program for our future country stars.

Under the sponsorship the CBH Group also supports the WACFL State Colts program, which gives young country footballers the opportunity to display their skills in a high-performance environment. The program varies each year but can include camps, trips and matches against some of the best metro talent.
