2022 CBH Grass Roots Community Grant recipients announced
The CBH Group is pleased to announce the 45 successful recipients of the 2022 February round of our Grass Roots Community Grants.
With a total amount of $150,068 awarded in this round, the grants aim to support community events and small-scale infrastructure projects that contribute to the health and vitality of WA grain growing communities.
Chief External Relations Officer, Brianna Peake, said the program was designed to fill funding gaps for regional grass roots organisations.
“Over the past nine years, our Grass Roots Community Grant program has continued to support regional communities in building better facilities and putting on events that bring communities together,” Miss Peake said.
“The grants have funded a variety of small-scale infrastructure projects including solar panels, playgrounds, gardens, toy libraries and water tanks as well as community events such as agricultural shows, music concerts and science workshops.
“We are extremely honoured to support this round of incredible projects that directly benefit growers and their communities.”
Successful applicant Tor Youth Shed received a $5000 grant toward the purchase and installation of a new fence and gate at their entrance after President Conrad Lowe applied for a grant on behalf of the group.
Mr Lowe said, “Thank you CBH for supporting our important service to the young people in our local community! The grant will increase safety of the entry and exit to the facility.”
Since its inception in 2014, the Grass Roots Community Grants program has awarded $2.35 million in grants to 755 community events and projects across regional Western Australia.
The next funding round will open on 1 August 2022. More information can be found on the CBH website.
