Applications are open for the 2022 Grass Roots Leadership Short Course

21/3/2022
The CBH Group is pleased to announce applications are open for the 2022 Grass Roots Leadership Short Course.

Delivered by the renowned Australian Institute of Management (AIM) and the University of WA Business School’s Executive Education, the highly regarded course is designed for people living and working in regional WA who want to develop their leadership skills and become a more effective, influential and engaging leader.

The short course is split into two, 2-day sessions scheduled for 2-3 June and 21-22 July 2022 running concurrently in Albany and Esperance.

Part of CBH’s Community Investment Fund, the short course alternates between port zones each year to provide as many growers as possible with the opportunity to build their leadership skills.

Chief External Relations Officer, Brianna Peake, encourages all growers to apply, particularly young growers who are keen to contribute to our industry or in their communities.

“We are eager to see the diversity of our community represented in leadership roles and encourage growers of all backgrounds to apply,” Miss Peake said

“Since launching the course in 2019, over 150 people from grain growing regions of WA have taken up the opportunity to further their leadership skills with many going on to apply what they have learned within their local communities.”

Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to explore authentic and resilient leadership, build the confidence and tools needed to communicate with influence, and explore strategies to engage others in change.

Previous participant, Bart Trevenen from Lake Grace said his participation in the program was key to understanding how to effectively lead others.

“I found the entire course particularly insightful, however, most useful was recognising my own personal leadership traits and behaviours and how to best tailor these behaviours to influence teams, manage conflict, and enhance personal resilience,” Mr Trevenen said.

“If you are keen to challenge your way of thinking and gain a good understanding of management techniques and leadership styles this course is fantastic for that.”

The course is heavily subsidised by CBH with all course materials, meals, accommodation and course facilitation covered. Participants are required to contribute a $400 fee and cover their own travel costs.

Applications are open until 10 April 2022. For more information and to apply, head to www.cbh.com.au/GRLSC
