CBH Group Director Kevin Fuchsbichler to not seek re-election

23/12/2021

The CBH Group has been advised that Member Director Kevin Fuchsbichler has withdrawn his nomination and will retire after his current term, which is due to expire at the conclusion of the 2022 Annual General Meeting, to be held on 18 February 2022.

Mr Fuchsbichler had recently completed the Candidate Assessment Panel (CAP) process, however, has informed the WA Electoral Commission and CBH of his decision to withdraw from the election process for personal reasons.

Mr Fuchsbichler, who is a grain producer from Bruce Rock, at the end of his current term will have been a Director of CBH for 15 years.

He was elected as a Director of the CBH Board in April 2007 and is currently Chair of the Workplace Health and Safety Committee and a member of the Remuneration and Nomination Committee.

Mr Fuchsbichler said while he is stepping down from the CBH Board, he would continue to have an active interest in CBH and Western Australia’s agricultural sector.

“I would like to thank growers for their support over many years. I have very much enjoyed serving growers over the past 15 years on the CBH Board and have always sought to represent their needs during that time,” Mr Fuchsbichler said.

“In retiring from the Board, I am looking forward to spending more time with my family and other interests.”

Mr Fuchsbichler added he is making the announcement now in order to give everyone who is considering standing as a candidate for District 3 time to nominate prior to closure of nominations on 4 January 2022.

CBH Chair Simon Stead thanked Mr Fuchsbichler for his contribution to the co-operative and his service to the growers of Western Australia.

“Kevin has worked tirelessly for the co-operative and growers during his tenure, being a strong advocate for Western Australian growers and always striving to advance their interests,” Mr Stead said.

“On behalf of the Board, I would like to recognise the commitment required to dedicate 15 years away from your farming business and family, and I sincerely thank Kevin for his dedicated contribution to CBH and we wish him every success in his future endeavours.”

Nominations remain open for candidates who wish to nominate outside of the CAP process.

Eligible candidates have until 12.00 noon on 4 January 2022 to lodge their nomination.
The upcoming elections will be conducted by the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC).

CBH Grower Members with an interest in standing for election outside of the CAP process as a Director in Districts 2, 3 or 4 should apply for an information pack and nomination form from the WAEC Returning Officer for the 2022 elections, Katherine Williams, by phone on 9214 0426 or email at nominations@waec.wa.gov.au.
