Equal Music Wheatbelt Partner

As the Equal Music Partner, CBH’s sponsorship contributes to bringing music education to grain growing schools and enabling students to attend live music concerts, many for the first time.

Each year over 50 schools have been involved reaching 9,000 students. Support from the CBH Group is used to either reduce the price per student, provide a subsidy to engage with small schools or is put towards the transport costs of small schools travelling to a nearby school to attend a concert.

Each school involved receives a program of digital resources, identified by the UK Guardian as one of the top 10 of its type in the world that contains a terms worth lessons. The program is endorsed by the Education Department and addresses key curriculum goals such as literacy, IT, science and history.

Ms Heather White - Wongan Hills Primary School Teacher

Ms Heather white, a teacher at the Wongan Hills Primary School and long term supporter of Musica Viva regularly invites schools in the area to join her students for the concerts.

“Musica Viva’s concerts are a highlight for our students who love the interactive concerts and using the digital resources. The resources teach students about the visiting group, the music that will be played and they also learn the basics of composition and the history of music.

“It is such an enjoyable, multilayered and progressive learning experience for students and teachers alike – and all relevant to the Department of Education’s curriculum.”
