Regional Member Forum Wrap Up

16/8/2022
It’s a wrap for our Regional Member Forums

July and August 2022 saw CBH bring their inaugural Member Forum and Cocktail Event to the regions.

The stream of events kicked off in Northam on 21 July, then in Albany on 29 July, Geraldton on 5 August and finished in Esperance on 11 August.

In total, over 250 growers attended to hear the latest updates from the CBH Lead Team as well as the Zone General Managers, plus also connect with other growers at the Cocktail Event and watch novelty cheques handed out to worthy charities and not-for-profit organisations as part of the Harvest Mass Management Scheme presentations.

The Member Forum covered four presentations from Chief Executive Officer Ben Macnamara, Chief Marketing and Trading Officer Jason Craig and Chief Operations Officer Mick Daw and the local Zone General Manager.

The presentations covered a range of topics including details on the updated CBH Strategy that ultimately aims to export 3 million tonnes each month, an update on global grain markets and what it means for growers, how the fertiliser expansion next to the Kwinana Grain Terminal is going and how performance of the supply chain.

In addition, we shone the spotlight on current and future network investment and each Zone General Manager presented specific zone updates for the coming harvest. Zone General Manager presenters included Irving Carey, Allan Walker, Will Piercey, Brianna Peake and Paul Channon.

After these presentations, growers had the opportunity to ask the presenters questions before the Cocktail Event began.

Each event had a Harvest Mass Management Scheme presentation where Chair Simon Stead presented cheques to local charities that had received funds from the scheme.

Throughout the Cocktail Event, a novelty CBH beer was served to growers. The ‘Celebration Ale’ was brewed by Lucky Bay Brewing in Esperance to commemorate the 2021/22 record harvest. Each event saw great participation and was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
