Flying Doctor Day is getting set to land

9/5/2022

On Tuesday 17 May 2022, RFDS will celebrate Flying Doctor Day and 94 years of proudly providing emergency aeromedical and essential health care services to the Australian community.

Reverend John Flynn’s vision to provide a mantle of safety for those living in remote areas of Australia took off on the morning of 17 May 1928 when the inaugural flight departed from Cloncurry to retrieve two patients.

We’re proud to announce we’re supporting Flying Doctor Day and will match every dollar donated on or before Tuesday 17 May.

This means your $10 becomes $20 and will help all those who live, work and travel across Western Australia.

Every single day, 27 people in Western Australia depend on the Flying Doctor’s critical medical care.

But they can’t do it alone and need your help to continue to be there for WA, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

This year we mark NINE years partnering with RFDS WA. The latest CBH financial year saw the RFDS WA retrieve 3,054 patients from 48 grain growing communities, primarily for accident and illness related emergencies, including mental health.
