Esperance Community Garden receives support through CBH Grass Roots Grants

13/10/2026

Esperance Community Garden Association has received support through CBH's Grass Roots Grants program to help establish a new community garden that will bring people together through growing and sharing fresh food.

The association is among 35 community organisations across regional Western Australia sharing in $300,000 through the August grants round, with funding supporting projects that strengthen local communities and create lasting benefits.

Esperance Community Garden Association Chairperson Jen Morcombe said the garden would provide a welcoming space for people of all ages to grow and share fresh food.

"The Esperance Community Garden will encourage and teach the community to grow food while creating opportunities for connection, learning and healthy outdoor activity,” Ms Morcombe said.

“We're grateful for the support from CBH, which will fund the water tank and support the garden’s long-term sustainability."

CBH Community Relations Manager Cassidy Bennett said the grants program continues to support the vital contribution regional community groups make across grain-growing regions.

"Local volunteers and community organisations play an important role in making regional communities stronger, more connected and vibrant places to live,” Ms Bennett said.

“We're proud to support projects that reflect local priorities and deliver meaningful benefits for their communities."

Across the August funding round, CBH has supported a diverse range of community-led initiatives, from sporting and recreation upgrades to nature play areas, public art, park improvements, community events, and health infrastructure projects.

The next round of funding will open on 1 February 2027. For more information, visit www.cbh.com.au.
