CBH renews partnership to bring live music education to regional WA students
CBH Group has extended its long-running partnership with Musica Viva Australia, providing access to live performances and music education to schools across Western Australia’s grain-growing communities for another three years.
The partnership, which has been running for more than 12 years, has delivered over 502 performances to more than 132 schools across regional WA.
The renewed partnership will build on this impact, giving thousands more students the chance to learn from professional musicians and experience live music in their own communities.
CBH Chief Stakeholder Relations, Sustainability and Strategy Officer David Paton said the partnership reflects CBH’s commitment to supporting opportunities for students in regional WA.
"For more than a decade, our partnership with Musica Viva has helped bring live music and education opportunities to students across regional Western Australia," Mr Paton said.
"Many students in regional communities don't have access to music education, so programs like this play an important role in broadening horizons and supporting learning.
"We're proud to continue supporting this program and providing students across our grain-growing regions with the opportunity to engage with professional musicians and experience the value of music in learning and creativity." Musica Viva Australia WA State Manager Hannah Lee Tungate said CBH’s support has played a vital role in reaching regional schools.
“CBH’s support has enabled us to deliver high-quality music education experiences to students in regional and remote communities across Western Australia,” Ms Lee Tungate said.
“These performances don’t just entertain, they ignite curiosity, support learning and help students connect with music in meaningful ways.
Williams Primary School Performing Arts Teacher Claire Harley said the program has become a valued part of the school calendar. “Since 2018, Musica Viva performances have been a highlight for our students and something they genuinely look forward to,” Ms Harley said.
“In a regional area, opportunities like this are rare, so each visit makes a real difference.
“It brings music to life in a way that simply isn’t possible through the classroom alone, while helping students see music as a shared language.”
