CBH announces District 2 election result
Following the closure of the polls today in the 2025 CBH Group Member Director Elections, the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) has counted the votes and advised of the successful candidate in District 2.
Russell Inman from Cadoux has been elected as a Member Director. The other candidates who participated were Jeff Seaby (incumbent) from Mukinbudin, Tracy Lefroy from Moora and John O’Neil from Mukinbudin.
CBH Chair Simon Stead thanked all candidates who participated in the process as well as grower members for casting their votes in the District 2 election.
“I would like to thank all candidates for putting their hand up to contribute to their co-operative as a Member Director, and congratulations to Russell on his election to the Board,” Mr Stead said.
"In accordance with co-operative principles and as a grower-owned co-operative, it is important that we are governed by a Board with a majority elected from the membership, by the members. Our directors must bring independent thinking to continue to build the co-operative that serves the growers today and well into the future.
“This election marked the first time CBH provided an online voting option in addition to paper ballots, and we're pleased to see a high usage rate of online voting among District 2 members."
Mr Stead recognised Jeff Seaby for his service to the Board over the past 6 years.
“On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Mr Seaby for his strong contribution to the co-operative during his time on the Board, and for being an enduring advocate for improving CBH’s service to growers,” Mr Stead said.
“I would also like to welcome Russell, who with his skills, knowledge and experience will add value to the Board.”
The formal appointment of Mr Inman as a Member Director will take place at this year’s CBH Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held on Friday 21 February 2025 at Crown Perth and is open to all registered CBH members.
